Calcium D-Pantothenate

Calcium D-pantothenate

Calcium D-pantothenate (CAS 137-08-6) is the calcium salt of the biologically active D-enantiomer of pantothenic acid (vitamin B5), with the molecular formula C18H32CaN2O10 and a molecular weight of 476.53. It is produced by chemical synthesis to USP/EP/FCC grade and is the dominant, highest-volume commercial B5 raw material, corresponding to roughly 92% pantothenic-acid equivalent by mass. In this salt a single divalent calcium ion bridges two pantothenate anions, so each gram carries pantothenate together with elemental calcium. It is a crystalline powder that is more stable and less hygroscopic than the free acid and the sodium salt, which is why it serves as the reference commercial form. We manufacture it in capsule, tablet, powder, gummy and liquid formats.
