Sodium D-Pantothenate

Sodium D-pantothenate

Sodium D-pantothenate (CAS 867-81-2) is the sodium salt of the active D-enantiomer of pantothenic acid, with the molecular formula C9H16NNaO5 and a molecular weight of 241.22. It is produced by chemical synthesis as a water-soluble powder. It parallels calcium pantothenate as a salt of the same vitamin but carries a single monovalent sodium ion rather than a divalent calcium ion bridging two pantothenate units, so it contributes sodium instead of calcium and dissolves more readily in water. It is used where calcium is undesirable in the formulation. We manufacture it in powder, capsule, tablet and liquid formats.
