Monomethylsilanetriol (MMST)

Methylsilanetriol

Monomethylsilanetriol (MMST) is an organic silicon compound, methylsilanetriol (CAS 2445-53-6; CH6O3Si, MW 94.14), in which a methyl group and three hydroxyl groups are bound to silicon. On a free-compound basis it carries about 30% silicon, but it is supplied and dosed as a dilute aqueous solution rather than a concentrated solid. As an organic organosilicon source it is distinct from the inorganic silicate salts and from the unstabilised free orthosilicic acid. We supply it in liquid format.
