Orthosilicic Acid (OSA)

Orthosilicic acid (silicon tetrahydroxide)

Orthosilicic acid is the simple soluble monomeric acid of silicon, silicon tetrahydroxide (CAS 10193-36-9; H4O4Si, MW 96.11). On a free-acid basis it carries about 29% silicon. It is the biologically soluble form of silicon, but in concentrated form it readily condenses and polymerises to silica, so it is supplied stabilised or as a dilute solution rather than as a bulk solid, which sets it apart from the stable silicate salts and the plant-silica extracts. We supply it in liquid format.
