Potassium Silicate

Potassium silicate

Potassium silicate is a soluble inorganic potassium silicate, represented by the idealised formula K2SiO3 (CAS 1312-76-1; MW 154.28, about 18% silicon on that basis). In practice commercial potassium silicate is defined by its potassium-to-silica ratio rather than a single stoichiometry and is frequently supplied as an alkaline aqueous solution. Like sodium metasilicate it is a stable, soluble silicate source, distinct from the unstable free orthosilicic acid and the plant-silica extracts. We supply it in liquid and powder formats.
