Our commitment

We believe a website should be usable by everyone, whatever their ability or the technology they use. We treat accessibility as part of building the site well, not an afterthought, and we work to remove barriers that would stop anyone from reaching the information they need.

The standard we aim for

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, the internationally recognised benchmark for accessible websites, and we use it as the target we design and build against.

What we have done

Across the site we use clear, semantic structure so headings, lists and landmarks make sense to screen readers; we provide text alternatives for meaningful images; we aim for readable colour contrast; the site can be operated by keyboard; and the layout adapts to different screen sizes and to larger text without breaking. Interactive elements are labelled so their purpose is clear.

Known limitations

Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and we are honest that some areas may not yet fully conform. Third-party content and complex interactive components in particular can fall short, and we work to improve them over time. If you meet a barrier, we want to know about it.
