This is non-branded single-isomer L-theanine, the free amino acid of tea, chemically identical to the branded enzymatic grade (N-ethyl-L-glutamine; CAS 3081-61-6, C7H14N2O3, MW 174.20). It is produced by microbial fermentation and supplied as fermentation-derived bulk powder standardized to typically at least 98% L-theanine. Like Suntheanine it carries the single L-configuration, but it is offered as a commodity bulk material rather than a standardized branded grade, and it differs from DL-theanine, which is a racemic mixture of D- and L-isomers registered under a separate CAS number. We manufacture it in capsule, tablet, powder and gummy formats.
