This grade is produced from the seeds of the grape, Vitis vinifera, the pressed and dried seed being the plant part used. It is a whole-fraction seed extract standardized to 95% oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPCs, also called procyanidins) determined by spectrophotometry, so the OPC fraction is the declared marker. It differs technically from the 90% polyphenol grade, which is quantified as total polyphenols by UV/Folin, and from the 100:1 ratio concentrate, which carries no marker percentage at all; it is a standardized whole extract, not an isolated single compound. Physical form is a fine reddish-brown to purple-brown powder. We manufacture it in capsule, tablet, and powder formats.
