Coenzyme Q10

Ubiquinol (Reduced CoQ10, Kaneka QH)

Ubiquinol (2,3-dimethoxy-5-methyl-6-decaprenyl-1,4-benzoquinol; reduced coenzyme Q10)

This is ubiquinol, the reduced benzoquinol form of coenzyme Q10 (CAS 992-78-9; C59H92O4, molecular weight 865.4), the counterpart to oxidized ubiquinone within the same decaprenyl scaffold. It is manufactured by fermentation followed by reduction of the quinone, and is then oxygen-stabilized to resist reversion. In technical terms it differs from the family's ubiquinone grades by bearing two additional hydrogen atoms on the ring (C59H92O4 versus C59H90O4, molecular weight 865.4 versus 863.3), which is why it is handled as an oxygen-stabilized material rather than a free-standing crystalline quinone. It is supplied in oxygen-stabilized form, typically as an oil suspension. We manufacture it in softgels, capsules, powders and tablets.
