Ginkgo Biloba

Bilobalide

Bilobalide

Bilobalide is a single sesquiterpene trilactone isolated and purified from the leaf of ginkgo (Ginkgo biloba, the maidenhair tree). It is supplied as a defined-purity single compound at a minimum of 90% bilobalide by HPLC, molecular formula C15H18O8 and molecular weight 326.30. As an isolated compound it differs from the whole-leaf extracts of this family (24/6, 27/7, EGb 761 and 50:1), which are multi-marker concentrates, and it is chemically distinct from ginkgolide B, the family's other isolate, which is a larger terpene trilactone (C20H24O10, molecular weight 424.40). The physical form is a crystalline to fine powder. We manufacture it in capsule and powder dosage formats.
