Hawthorn Leaf & Flower Extract (2.2% Flavonoids)

Crataegus monogyna leaf and flower

A dry extract of hawthorn (Crataegus monogyna) leaf and flower, standardized to 2.2% total flavonoids expressed as hyperoside. It is produced from the same aerial leaf-and-flower material as the vitexin grade but is quantified against the total-flavonoid assay rather than a single vitexin marker, giving a broader flavonoid specification. This also distinguishes it from the OPC grade, which is assayed to oligomeric proanthocyanidins instead of flavonoids, and from the ratio-defined berry extract and the unstandardized whole-fruit powder. Supplied as a dry extract powder, it is manufactured into capsules, tablets and powder.
