Natural beta-carotene (CAS 7235-40-7) is the same C40H56 provitamin A carotenoid, but extracted from the halophilic microalga Dunaliella salina rather than chemically synthesised. Its defining technical difference from the synthetic grade is the isomer profile: it contains a natural mixture of all-trans and 9-cis beta-carotene rather than all-trans alone. Like the synthetic material it is a deeply coloured, oxygen-free carotenoid standardised by percent beta-carotene. We manufacture it into softgels, capsules, powders and liquids.
