Citrulline Malate 1:1 is a defined 1:1 molar salt of L-citrulline with DL-malic acid (2-hydroxybutanedioic acid), CAS 54940-97-5, molecular formula C10H19N3O8 (MW 309.27). The L-citrulline component is fermentation-derived and combined with malic acid to give a single characterised salt that carries its own CAS number and molecular formula. Relative to the 2:1 grade it pairs each citrulline unit with a full equivalent of malic acid, giving a lower citrulline fraction per gram, and unlike the free-form amino acid it is a co-crystallised acid salt that is more readily water-soluble than the bare amino acid. It is supplied as a white to off-white crystalline powder. We manufacture it in powder and capsule dosage formats.
