Synthetic beta-carotene (CAS 7235-40-7) is all-trans beta-carotene, a C40H56 provitamin A carotenoid produced by chemical synthesis. Unlike the preformed retinoids in this family it is a pure hydrocarbon carotenoid with no oxygen in its structure, the highest molecular weight of the group (536.87) and a deep orange colour. This grade is a single all-trans isomer, in contrast to the natural Dunaliella material, and is standardised by percent beta-carotene and supplied as an oil suspension or beadlet. We manufacture it into softgels, capsules, tablets, powders and gummies.
