Synthetic Vitamin E Acetate (dl-alpha-tocopheryl acetate)

all-rac-alpha-tocopheryl acetate (CAS 7695-91-2) is the acetate ester of synthetic all-rac-alpha-tocopherol and the reference potency standard for vitamin E, defined at exactly 1.00 IU/mg. Esterification of the chromanol hydroxyl gives the same oxidation-stable, capped structure as the natural acetate (C31H52O3, 472.7 g/mol) but on the racemic eight-stereoisomer backbone rather than the single RRR configuration. As the highest-volume commodity vitamin E form, it is supplied both as an oil and as a dry, adsorbed or coated powder. We manufacture it into softgels, capsules, tablets, liquids and dry premix powders.
