Mixed Tocopherols

Mixed tocopherols (CAS 1406-66-2, food additive E306) is a vegetable-oil-derived concentrate of the four natural tocopherol homologs, alpha-, beta-, gamma- and delta-tocopherol. Because it is a UVCB substance of variable composition it carries no single molecular formula or weight and is standardized instead by total tocopherol percentage, typically running high in the gamma- and delta-homologs. Unlike the isolated single-homolog and esterified alpha grades, it is a multi-component free-tocopherol oil rather than one defined molecule. We supply it as an oil for softgels, capsules and liquids and as a carrier powder for dry formats.
