Xylitol Powder (micronized) is the pentitol sugar alcohol xylitol, (2R,4S)-pentane-1,2,3,4,5-pentol, CAS 87-99-0, EC 201-788-0, C5H12O5, MW 152.15 (E967/INS 967). It is produced by fine-milling and micronizing crystalline xylitol to a reduced, tightly controlled particle size at an FCC grade of at least 99% xylitol. Relative to the standard birch and corn crystalline grades it is the same molecule at comparable assay, but its smaller particle size gives more uniform distribution in dry blends and faster dissolution; unlike the directly compressible grade it is milled rather than granulated for compression. It is a fine, white, free-flowing powder. We manufacture it into powders, capsules, tablets and gummies.
