Sodium Borate (Borax)

Disodium tetraborate decahydrate (borax)

Sodium borate, known as borax, is disodium tetraborate decahydrate (CAS 1303-96-4, formula Na2B4O7·10H2O, molecular weight 381.37), a mined inorganic sodium tetraborate salt. It is sourced from mineral deposits, and its hydration state defines the molecular weight of a given grade. At roughly 11% elemental boron it is the second most boron-dense form in the family, below inorganic boric acid at about 17.5% but well above the organic citrate, fructoborate and amino-acid chelates. Unlike the other forms it is also offered dissolved as a liquid boron concentrate in addition to dry formats, and we manufacture it for capsule, powder and liquid formats.
