Monopotassium Phosphate

Potassium dihydrogen phosphate

Monopotassium phosphate is the monobasic potassium salt of phosphoric acid (potassium dihydrogen phosphate, H2KO4P, CAS 7778-77-0), produced synthetically at the mono-substituted stage where a single potassium ion replaces one hydrogen of the acid. It supplies both potassium (about 29%) and phosphorus; its lower potassium load and more acidic reaction distinguish it from the dibasic dipotassium phosphate (~45% K), which carries two potassium ions and is more alkaline. Like the dibasic salt it serves as a buffering phosphate source rather than a single-mineral potassium salt. We supply it as a crystalline powder for powders, capsules and tablets.
