Ferric pyrophosphate is an iron(III) salt of pyrophosphoric acid (CAS 10058-44-3, Fe4(P2O7)3) carrying about 30% elemental iron. Unlike the family's soluble ferrous salts, the iron here is in the oxidised +3 state and the compound is essentially water-insoluble, so it is typically micronized or microencapsulated (for example the SunActive or Lipofer grades) into a fine dispersible powder. This physical processing distinguishes it technically from the crystalline sulfate or fumarate salts. We supply it in powder, liquid, capsule and tablet formats.
