Magnesium Citrate

Trimagnesium dicitrate

Magnesium citrate is the magnesium salt of citric acid, supplied chiefly as anhydrous trimagnesium dicitrate in a 3:2 magnesium-to-citrate ratio (CAS 3344-18-1; C12H10Mg3O14, MW 451.12). As an organic-acid salt it is more water-soluble than the inorganic oxide and carbonate forms and carries around 16% elemental magnesium, placing it between the concentrated inorganic salts and the low-load amino-acid chelates. For liquid formats we also run monomagnesium citrate grades, which are more soluble than the trimagnesium salt. It is produced as a white to off-white powder or granulate and manufactured into capsules, tablets, powders and liquids.
