Magnesium Taurate

Magnesium ditaurate

Magnesium taurate, or magnesium ditaurate (CAS 334824-43-0; C4H12MgN2O6S2, MW 272.60), is the magnesium salt of the amino sulfonic acid taurine, with two taurate ligands per magnesium ion. It carries roughly 9% elemental magnesium, a low elemental load characteristic of the amino-acid-associated forms rather than the concentrated inorganic salts. The taurine used is synthetically produced and not animal-derived, so the finished salt is suitable for vegan formulations. It is manufactured as a white powder into capsules, tablets and powder blends.
