Phytonadione (Vitamin K1)

2-Methyl-3-[(E,7R,11R)-3,7,11,15-tetramethylhexadec-2-enyl]naphthalene-1,4-dione

Phytonadione (CAS 84-80-0) is the commercial form of vitamin K1, a 2-methyl-1,4-naphthoquinone bearing a single monounsaturated phytyl side chain and structurally identical to the phylloquinone found in green plants. It is manufactured by chemical synthesis and released against USP/EP specifications with HPLC assay. Within this family it is distinguished from the K2 menaquinones by an isoprenoid tail carrying only one double bond, which sets its molecular weight at 450.7 g/mol, and from menadione (K3) by retaining a full lipophilic side chain rather than the bare naphthoquinone nucleus. The ingredient is supplied either as the neat oil or as a cold-water-dispersible dry powder. We manufacture it into softgels, capsules, tablets and liquids.
