Menaquinone-7 (Vitamin K2 MK-7), synthetic

2-[(2E,6E,10E,14E,18E,22E)-3,7,11,15,19,23,27-Heptamethyloctacosa-2,6,10,14,18,22,26-heptaenyl]-3-methylnaphthalene-1,4-dione

This menaquinone-7 (CAS 2124-57-4) is vitamin K2 MK-7 produced by chemical synthesis rather than fermentation, with the same all-trans seven-isoprenoid structure and 649.0 g/mol molecular weight as the fermented grade. It is assayed by HPLC as all-trans MK-7. Because it is chemically synthesized rather than grown on a soy or natto substrate, it carries no soy allergen declaration, which is its main technical distinction from the fermentation-derived MK-7; relative to MK-4 and K1 it has the longer heptaene side chain and correspondingly higher molecular weight. It is supplied as an oil concentrate or a cold-water-dispersible powder. We manufacture it into softgels, capsules, tablets, powders and liquids.
