Food Safety System Certification
What it is
FSSC 22000 is a complete food-safety management system certification recognised by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). It combines ISO 22000:2018, the sector prerequisite programmes (ISO/TS 22002-1) and the FSSC additional requirements. Version 6.0 has been mandatory since April 2024.
What it covers
- Hazard analysis and control across the whole chain
- Prerequisite programmes · hygiene, pest control, utilities
- Equipment management and maintenance
- Food loss and waste, and food safety culture (v6)
- Management-system governance and continual improvement
Why it matters to you
GFSI recognition means FSSC 22000 is accepted by importers and retailers worldwide, a single credential that clears most food-safety vendor requirements. It also contains the HACCP methodology in full.
