Quercetin

Isoquercetin (isoquercitrin)

2-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-5,7-dihydroxy-3-[(2S,3R,4S,5S,6R)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy-4H-chromen-4-one

Isoquercetin, also called isoquercitrin, is a quercetin glycoside in which a single beta-D-glucose unit is attached at the 3-position of the flavonol backbone (quercetin-3-O-beta-D-glucoside, CAS 482-35-9, C21H20O12, MW 464.38). It is commonly produced by enzymatic conversion of rutin, which removes the terminal rhamnose to leave the monoglucoside, and is supplied at typically >=90% HPLC. The bound glucose raises its molecular weight above that of the sugar-free aglycone grades, the dihydrate and anhydrous, while it carries only one glucose unit versus the multi-glucose oligomer mixture of EMIQ. We manufacture it as a plant-derived powder into capsules, tablets and powders.
