Garlic Oil

Allium sativum (bulb) oil

Garlic Oil is the sulfur-rich oil of garlic (Allium sativum) bulb, produced by steam distillation or maceration and specified as a concentration ratio to fresh bulb weight, for example around 1:500 for steam-distilled oil. Its ratio-based specification distinguishes it from the family's marker-standardized bulb extracts, which are assayed to allicin, alliin, or S-allyl cysteine percentages, and from the whole bulb powder, a milled dry material. As a lipophilic distilled or macerated oil rather than a dry extract or powder, it is the only oil-form member of the family. It is a liquid oil. We manufacture it in softgels.
