Natural Vitamin E Acetate (d-alpha-tocopheryl acetate)

RRR-alpha-tocopheryl acetate

RRR-alpha-tocopheryl acetate (CAS 58-95-7) is the acetic-acid ester of natural d-alpha-tocopherol, made by acetylating the free chromanol hydroxyl so that the phenolic position is capped. Capping that hydroxyl converts the readily oxidized free tocopherol into an oxidation-stable ester, raising the molecular weight to 472.7 g/mol (C31H52O3) and setting the conversion factor at 1.36 IU/mg. Built on the single RRR backbone, it differs from the all-rac synthetic acetate in stereochemistry and IU value while sharing the same esterified, shelf-stable character. It is manufactured as an oil for softgels, capsules and liquids and as a dry, free-flowing powder for tablets and dry blends.
