Vitamin E TPGS

D-alpha-tocopheryl polyethylene glycol 1000 succinate

Vitamin E TPGS (CAS 9002-96-4) is d-alpha-tocopheryl polyethylene glycol 1000 succinate, a conjugate in which natural d-alpha-tocopherol is esterified through succinic acid to a polyethylene glycol 1000 chain. This amphiphilic structure makes it the only water-soluble member of the vitamin E family, in contrast to the fat-soluble oils and esters of the tocopherol and tocotrienol grades. Because the PEG chain is a variable-length polymer it carries no single fixed molecular formula; an idealized single-unit model corresponds to tocofersolan (CAS 30999-06-5). We supply it as a waxy solid or powder and process it into powders, capsules, softgels and liquids.
