BCAA 4:1:1 is a leucine-weighted blend of the three branched-chain amino acids, L-leucine, L-isoleucine and L-valine, in a 4:1:1 leucine:isoleucine:valine weight ratio. It is made by dry-blending the individual fermentation-derived free-form amino acids and, being a multi-constituent mixture, has no single CAS number, molecular formula or molecular weight. It carries a higher proportion of leucine than the 2:1:1 grade but less than the 8:1:1 grade, the three blends differing only in their leucine loading while the isoleucine-to-valine proportion stays at 1:1. Unlike the single amino acids it supplies all three constituents in one powder. We manufacture it in powder, capsule, tablet and liquid formats.
