L-Arginine HCl

L-arginine monohydrochloride

L-Arginine HCl is the monohydrochloride salt of L-arginine (CAS 1119-34-2), formula C6H15ClN4O2, molecular weight 210.66. It is prepared by combining fermentation-derived L-arginine with hydrochloric acid in a 1:1 ratio, yielding a highly water-soluble crystalline solid that corresponds to about 82.7% L-arginine base by mass. Compared with the free base it is more soluble and forms acidic rather than alkaline solutions, and its chloride counter-ion gives it a lower elemental arginine load. We supply it in capsule, tablet, powder and liquid formats.
