L-Carnitine Fumarate

(3R)-3-hydroxy-4-(trimethylazaniumyl)butanoate (2E)-but-2-enedioate (1:1)

L-Carnitine fumarate (CAS 90471-79-7) is a 1:1 salt of L-carnitine and fumaric acid, formula C11H19NO7 and molecular weight 277.27. It is produced synthetically by combining L-carnitine with fumaric acid and standardized to approximately 58% L-carnitine by mass. It is a carboxylic-acid salt like the tartrate but pairs one L-carnitine with one fumaric acid molecule, giving it the lowest L-carnitine content by mass among the family's salt grades, and it is not an ester like the acetyl or propionyl forms. We supply it as a powder and manufacture it into capsules, tablets and powders.
