Coenzyme Q10 (Ubiquinone)

Ubidecarenone (2,3-dimethoxy-5-methyl-6-decaprenyl-1,4-benzoquinone)

This is ubidecarenone, the oxidized benzoquinone form of coenzyme Q10 (CAS 303-98-0; C59H90O4, molecular weight 863.3), a lipophilic redox-active quinone carrying a decaprenyl side chain. It is produced by yeast or bacterial fermentation, which yields the all-trans configuration directly from the microbial biosynthetic route rather than by chemical assembly. Against the family's reduced grade, ubiquinol, this is the oxidized quinone and carries two fewer hydrogen atoms (C59H90O4 versus C59H92O4), and unlike the semi-synthetic ubiquinone of identical structure it is built biosynthetically rather than constructed from a solanesol precursor. It is supplied as a crystalline powder or as an oil-suspension beadlet. We manufacture it in capsules, tablets, softgels, powders, gummies and liquids.
