This is ubidecarenone, the oxidized benzoquinone form of coenzyme Q10 (CAS 303-98-0; C59H90O4, molecular weight 863.3), structurally identical to the fermentation grade of ubiquinone. It is produced by chemical semi-synthesis, in which the quinone is assembled from a solanesol precursor rather than obtained from microbial fermentation. It presents the same oxidized benzoquinone as the fermentation ubiquinone, differing only in manufacturing route, and it is distinguished from ubiquinol by being the oxidized rather than the reduced form, carrying two fewer hydrogens (C59H90O4 versus C59H92O4). It is supplied as a crystalline powder. We manufacture it in capsules, tablets, softgels and powders.
