AKBA (3-O-Acetyl-11-keto-beta-boswellic acid)

3-O-Acetyl-11-keto-beta-boswellic acid (from Boswellia serrata)

AKBA (3-O-acetyl-11-keto-beta-boswellic acid) is a single pentacyclic triterpene acid isolated from the Boswellia serrata (Indian frankincense) gum resin. It is purified to typically not less than 90% as one defined compound (CAS 67416-61-9), making it the most concentrated and most chemically defined form in the family. Where the branded 5-Loxin and Boswellin Super grades enrich a whole extract to a defined AKBA percentage and the base grades report total boswellic acids, this material is the isolated AKBA molecule itself rather than a standardized extract. It is supplied as a purified powder and manufactured into capsules and bulk powder.
