Calcium gluconate is the calcium salt of gluconic acid (calcium D-gluconate, CAS 299-28-5, molecular weight 430.37), produced synthetically to USP/FCC grade. It is a highly water-soluble organic-acid salt, but because the gluconate ligand is large it carries only about 9% elemental calcium, the lowest single-salt load in this family alongside ascorbate. This distinguishes it from the concentrated carbonate and phosphate forms and from the more calcium-dense citrate and bisglycinate. It is supplied as a white crystalline to granular powder. We manufacture it in tablets, powders and liquids.
