Adenosylcobalamin (CAS 13870-90-1), also traded as dibencozide or cobamamide, is a coenzyme form of vitamin B12 that carries a 5'-deoxyadenosyl group on the central cobalt atom in place of a cyanide ligand (formula C72H100CoN18O17P, molecular weight 1579.6). It is manufactured by microbial fermentation. The bulky adenosyl ligand makes it the largest and heaviest member of the family at 1579.6, well above the cyano, methyl and hydroxo forms, and it is the most light-sensitive of the group, calling for the strictest light protection during handling. It is supplied as a crystalline powder, generally as a standardized trituration, and we manufacture it in capsules, tablets and powders.
