L-Arginine Ethyl Ester (AEE)

L-arginine ethyl ester dihydrochloride

L-Arginine Ethyl Ester (AEE) is the ethyl ester of L-arginine supplied as its dihydrochloride salt (CAS 36589-29-4), formula C8H20Cl2N4O2, molecular weight 275.17. It is produced by esterifying the carboxyl group of fermentation-derived L-arginine with ethanol and isolating the product as a 1:2 dihydrochloride. Unlike the underivatized free base and simple salts of the family, its carboxylic acid group is blocked as an ethyl ester, and the material is supplied as a crystalline dihydrochloride powder. We manufacture it in capsule, tablet and powder formats.
