Zinc Ascorbate is the zinc salt of ascorbic acid, zinc bis(L-ascorbate) (CAS 331242-75-2, C12H14O12Zn, MW 415.6), produced to food and supplement grade. In this salt a single zinc ion is paired with two ascorbate units, so each gram carries both ascorbate and elemental zinc, making it a combined mineral-and-vitamin-C raw material like the calcium and magnesium ascorbates rather than the mineral-free acid. It is set apart from those salts by carrying zinc as its counter-ion at a molecular weight of 415.6. It is a powder manufactured into capsule, tablet and powder formats.
