Magnesium Ascorbate

Magnesium L-ascorbate

Magnesium Ascorbate is the magnesium salt of ascorbic acid, magnesium L-ascorbate (CAS 15431-40-0, C12H14MgO12, MW 374.54), manufactured to FCC grade. Like the other mineral ascorbates it is a pH-neutral, buffered, water-soluble form, here pairing a divalent magnesium ion with two ascorbate units so each gram carries ascorbate together with elemental magnesium. It differs from calcium ascorbate in the mineral it carries and from the sodium and potassium salts in being divalent rather than monovalent, and its molecular weight gives it a different ascorbate-to-mineral ratio than the calcium salt. It is supplied as a crystalline powder and manufactured into capsule, tablet and powder formats.
