Globe artichoke (Cynara scolymus), leaf. This is a whole-leaf extract standardized to 2.5% cynarin by HPLC, corresponding to an approximately 4:1 native drug-to-extract ratio. As the entry marker grade of the artichoke range, it carries a lower assayed cynarin level than the 5% extract and is standardized on cynarin rather than on the chlorogenic-acid (caffeoylquinic acid) assay used for the chlorogenic-acid grade. It is supplied as a fine, free-flowing dry extract powder. We manufacture it in capsule, tablet, powder, and liquid formats.
