Thiamine Mononitrate

Thiamine nitrate

Thiamine mononitrate (CAS 532-43-4) is the mononitrate salt of vitamin B1, molecular formula C12H17N5O4S and molecular weight 327.36, produced by chemical synthesis to USP/EP/FCC grade. In contrast to thiamine hydrochloride, it pairs the thiamine cation with a single nitrate group instead of chloride and hydrochloride, which makes it markedly less hygroscopic. This low-hygroscopicity, low-moisture behavior separates it from the water-soluble hydrochloride and from the lipid-soluble open-ring derivatives such as benfotiamine and fursultiamine. It is supplied as a low-moisture powder, and we manufacture it in tablet, capsule and powder formats.
