A dry extract of hawthorn (Crataegus monogyna) leaf and flower, standardized to 1.8% vitexin expressed as vitexin-2''-O-rhamnoside. Unlike the family's berry grades, it is produced from the aerial leaf-and-flower material and is assayed to a single defined flavone-glycoside marker rather than to an extraction ratio. It differs from its sibling leaf-and-flower grades in the marker it is quantified against: vitexin here, versus total flavonoids (as hyperoside) or oligomeric proanthocyanidins in the other leaf-and-flower extracts. Supplied as a dry extract powder, it is manufactured into capsules, tablets and powder.
