Calcium Citrate

Tricalcium dicitrate

Calcium citrate, chemically tricalcium dicitrate (CAS 813-94-5), is the calcium salt of citric acid supplied in a 3:2 calcium-to-citrate ratio. It is produced synthetically by reacting a calcium source with citric acid and is most often isolated as the tetrahydrate, giving roughly 24% elemental calcium on an anhydrous basis, about 21% as the tetrahydrate. Unlike the water-insoluble carbonate and phosphate forms, this organic-acid salt is appreciably water-soluble, though it carries a lower elemental load per gram than carbonate. It is supplied as a white crystalline powder to USP/FCC specification. We manufacture it in capsules, tablets, powders, gummies and liquids.
