RRR-delta-tocopherol (CAS 119-13-1) is the delta homolog of the tocopherol family, the least methylated of the four chromanol homologs, with the lowest molecular weight of the tocopherols at 402.7 g/mol (C27H46O2). It is isolated from vegetable oil deodorizer distillate as a single natural homolog and assayed by HPLC. Being a free-phenol tocopherol it is a fat-soluble oil rather than a crystalline ester, and it differs from gamma- and alpha-tocopherol only in the number and position of the ring methyl groups. We manufacture it as an oil for softgels, capsules and liquids.
