Sodium Selenate

Sodium selenate (anhydrous)

Sodium selenate (CAS 13410-01-0, Na2O4Se, MW 188.95) is the water-soluble inorganic sodium salt of selenic acid, with selenium in the fully oxidized +6 oxidation state. It is manufactured as a defined inorganic salt and carries roughly 42% selenium by weight. Its distinguishing technical feature within the family is the +6 (selenate) oxidation state, one level above sodium selenite's +4 (selenite) form, while both remain inorganic salts as opposed to the organic seleno-amino acids and the yeast matrix. It is produced as a crystalline powder and manufactured into tablets, capsules, powders and liquids.
