Vitamin A Acetate

Retinyl acetate (all-trans-retinol acetate)

Retinyl acetate (CAS 127-47-9) is the acetic-acid ester of all-trans retinol, molecular formula C22H32O2. Like the palmitate it is produced synthetically by esterifying retinol, but with a much shorter two-carbon acyl group, so it has a lower molecular weight (328.49) and a correspondingly higher retinol content per gram than retinyl palmitate. It is offered primarily as a dry-stabilised, free-flowing preformed vitamin A grade rather than an oil, with potency standardised in IU per gram. We manufacture it into tablets, capsules, powders and softgels.
