Echinacea (Echinacea purpurea), purple coneflower, aerial parts, extracted and standardized to 4% cichoric (chicoric) acid by HPLC, with grades also offered across a 2% to 4% range. Cichoric acid is the characteristic phenolic marker of the species, so this grade is assayed to that single phenolic compound rather than to the broader total-polyphenol pool used for the 4% polyphenol extract or the lipophilic alkylamide markers of the alkylamide grade. Being marker-standardized also separates it from the ratio-defined 4:1 and 10:1 extracts. The physical form is a brown extract powder. We manufacture it in capsule, tablet, powder and liquid formats.
