Rebaudioside A 97/98% (Reb A)

Rebaudioside A

Rebaudioside A (Reb A; CAS 58543-16-1, C44H70O23, MW 967.0) is a single steviol glycoside extracted from the leaves of Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni and purified to >=97%, most commonly 98%, on a dry basis (E960a). It is produced by aqueous extraction of the dried leaf followed by chromatographic purification and crystallisation to isolate the Reb A molecule from the surrounding glycoside pool. Unlike the total steviol glycosides grade it is a defined single compound rather than a mixture, and at MW 967.0 it is a lighter, less heavily glucosylated molecule than the related Reb D (1129.2) and Reb M (1291.3). It is supplied as a white to off-white crystalline high-intensity sweetener powder and is manufactured into powders, tablets, capsules, liquids and gummies.
