Corn Maltodextrin

Maltodextrin (partially hydrolysed corn starch; alpha-1,4/1,6-linked D-glucose polymer)

Corn Maltodextrin is a partially hydrolysed corn (maize) starch built from alpha-1,4- and alpha-1,6-linked D-glucose units (CAS 9050-36-6, EC 232-940-4, empirical formula (C6H10O5)n). It is manufactured by controlled acid or enzymatic hydrolysis of corn starch, and we carry it across multiple dextrose-equivalent grades spanning DE 10-19. Chemically it is the same glucose polymer as our tapioca and rice maltodextrins but is sourced from corn starch rather than cassava or rice, and unlike the digestion-resistant grade it is a conventional low-DE bulking starch characterized by dextrose equivalent rather than by soluble-fibre content. It is supplied as a free-flowing white to off-white powder that acts as a bulking agent, powder carrier and flow aid. We manufacture it into capsules, tablets, powders and gummies.
